Steve Czarnecki's SOUL/JAZZ QUINTET is based on the premise that if any music  doesn't prominently feature the sound of the Hammond B3, it's probably not worth listening to. In view of this fact, we have assembled some great musicians into a wonderful five piece group playing the classic soul/jazz repertoire of artists like Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff and Jimmy McGriff. We also toss in many original tunes and updated versions of classic grooves. Our line up consists of:

Nate Pruitt  vocals

Steve Czarnecki  organ

Mike Renwick /Bill Schrey - guitars

Bob Johnson   sax

Dan Sabanovich  drums

Steve at the Organ

By now you're probably asking yourself: just where can I hear these guys play? Well, check out our 2008 Schedule or Steve's Schedule. Here's a link to the West King, Escalona and Miramar "Traffic Plan" for those of you who are intersted in our local situation.

Our group's first CD, "SOUL/JAZZ QUINTET", is sold out for the next few months. The good news is our latest CD, "SOUL RENDEZVOUS", is available now! Once again we feature the dynamic Nate Pruitt on vocals, and in addition, we have a slew of new, original Soul/Jazz compositions! Needless to say, it sounds great!

Pete Fallico (Doodlin' Lounge) says:
Steve's new CD (Soul Rendezvous) is huge! I was proud to debut several of the tunes on my radio show the other night. The groove is undeniable and Steve swings all the way through this session. Grab this CD while you can!

Brad Stone of KSJS in San Jose says: This is going right into rotation!

Call us at 831.458.4110 or send $14.98 for Soul Rendezvous to:
PMP Records, 218 Miramar Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
 - see our Orderform.

A Bit of Soul/Jazz Trivia: Our recording of "Fly Me to the Moon" is available in Pottery Barn stores on the CD Dinner at Eight-Second Course (EMI-Capitol Special Markets). We're in the fine company of Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Darin and others!

If you'd like further information about the band, call me (Steve Czarnecki) at 831.458.4110, or email me at postmaster at soul-jazz.com

Oh, and P.S. -- I have two jazz piano trio CDs ...

They sound wonderful and I'm sure they'll make great gifts for anyone who enjoys Jazz. A shout out to our friends in Japan who have enjoyed them so much. Thanks!
